Lottie's oldest memory was being shown by her father how to mold leather for the finest fitting shoes this side of the sparkling lake. It was tedious and precise work. There was no one better at it than her father. She was fully expected to take over the family business.
Even when she played outside she'd make shoes out of the Earth's clay. As she got older ceramics became her favorite pass time. She would paint them and line her bedroom walls with shelves to display all her little ceramic shoes.
She didn't know her mother but she often day dreamed what she was like.
One day, she thought. One day... I'll go to the human world and find her.
Her father had said she was a queen and Lottie always imagined that she would be welcomed with fine dresses and terribly uncomfortable expensive human shoes. They would look amazing but you'd never be able to walk far in them.
She didn't have it in her to go while her father was alive. so she waited... and waited... but Fae have much longer lives than humans that when she finally went to human world her mother had been dead for 200 years. Her great nephew was king and his son crown prince. The young prince often was referred to as Prince Charming.
